The History
The East Stroudsburg Armory, also known as the Captain George M. Kemp Memorial Armory, is a historic National Guard armory located in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Built in 1928, this impressive structure features a “T”-plan design, with a two-story administration building and an attached one-story drill hall, showcasing the distinctive Tudor Revival architectural style. Constructed of brick on a solid concrete foundation, the armory stands as a testament to early 20th-century military architecture. In 1991, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places, one of only two registered historic sites in the Borough of East Stroudsburg.
Lovingly Restored and Preserved
The Armory at 271 Washington Street in East Stroudsburg boasts a rich history, originally constructed as a National Guard Armory. It served as a central hub for the local community and military personnel for decades. Over the years, the building evolved, transitioning from its role in service to the nation to a venue that now hosts the celebrations of life’s most cherished moments focused on bringing the arts and families together to keep the historic building alive. The family-owned venue was lovingly restored and repurposed, blending its historic charm with modern elegance. Today, The Armory offers a unique space that honors its past while providing a stunning backdrop for unforgettable weddings and events.
