Carolyn and Andrew’s September Poconos Wedding

Carolyn and Andrew had a stunning September Poconos Wedding focused on simple wildflower details, and incredible images primarily shot on film. Carolyn, unfortunately, broke her foot the week of her wedding but recovered effortlessly by using this “scooter” to help her keep her cast off of the ground and had her bouquet added to it to continue on with the day in the best spirit possible.

The couple spent their entire day at The Armory starting with getting ready in our on-site suites and then doing a first look on our main floor before heading to a local park (Columncile) for some stunning portrait photos. The couple rented The Armory shuttle to take them to and from the park and pick up their guests for the ceremony.

After their portraits, they had a beautiful ceremony and reception and continued on to have an epic dance party including Karaoke on the dance floor. We loved the special details Carolyn and Andrew added especially their wildflower cake and the portraits they took at the entrance to The Armory.

What makes a September Poconos Wedding special?

A September wedding in the Poconos is truly magical, offering couples a picturesque blend of vibrant autumn colors, mild weather, and a serene mountain backdrop. Here’s why a September wedding in the Poconos is special:

  1. Spectacular Fall Foliage: As summer transitions into fall, the Poconos come alive with brilliant hues of red, orange, and gold. This natural scenery creates a stunning backdrop for wedding photos, offering couples and their guests an unforgettable experience amidst nature’s beauty.
  2. Mild Weather: September in the Poconos brings comfortable, temperate weather—no jacket needed but cool enough to avoid the heat of summer. This balance allows for flexibility in wedding attire and a more enjoyable experience for guests.
  3. Outdoor Adventure for Guests: With hiking, rafting, and scenic drives in full swing, a Poconos wedding offers plenty of weekend activities for guests to explore. Hosting a September wedding here means guests can enjoy the area’s natural beauty, from its waterfalls and trails to quaint local attractions.
  4. Seasonal Food & Decor: September is the perfect time to embrace seasonal, farm-fresh flavors. Couples can incorporate harvest-inspired dishes into their menu, such as roasted vegetables, apple cider cocktails, and rich autumn desserts. The natural beauty of the season can also inspire decor choices, with vibrant florals, rustic elements, and cozy details like lanterns or candles.
  5. Romantic Atmosphere: The crispness of early fall and the golden glow of the setting sun add an element of romance that makes September weddings feel intimate and cozy. As the sun sets earlier, candlelit receptions and twinkling string lights make for a warm, inviting ambiance.

For couples seeking a dreamy wedding day surrounded by nature, a September wedding in the Poconos offers the perfect combination of natural beauty, ideal weather, and a tranquil atmosphere.
